Who we are
Aces & Eights is a live music band based in Western North Carolina. This website (acesandeightsband.com) lets you view our shows, photos, and videos, request a booking, and sign up to hear from us. We respect your privacy and only collect what we need to play your event and keep you in the loop.
Information we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us:
- Booking requests. When you request a date, we collect your name, email address, phone number, the event details you share (venue, type of event, notes), your event ZIP code (used to estimate travel), and the date and start time you request.
- Newsletter & text sign-ups. When you join our mailing list, we collect your first name and email address, and — if you choose to provide it and check the box — your phone number and your consent to receive text (SMS) messages.
- Basic technical information. Like most websites, our host may automatically log standard request data (such as your browser type and approximate region) to keep the site running and secure. Our site also stores a small amount of information in your own browser (for example, to remember that you've already seen the site tour). We do not use advertising trackers, and we don't sell your data.
How we use your information
- To respond to and manage your booking request, and send you a confirmation.
- To contact you about your event or a question you've sent us.
- To send you show news and updates by email — and by text, only if you opted in.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the website.
Text (SMS) messages
We only send text messages to people who have given us express consent by checking the SMS box on our sign-up form. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any of our texts, or reply HELP for help. We never sell or rent your phone number, and opting in to texts is never required to book us or to receive our emails.
If you join our email list, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send. Requesting a booking does not automatically add you to our newsletter.
Service providers we rely on
We use a handful of trusted third-party services to run the site. They process information only to provide their service to us, and each has its own privacy policy:
- Netlify — hosts the website.
- Google Firebase — securely stores booking requests and site content.
- EmailJS — sends your booking confirmation email.
- Formspree — delivers your booking request to the band.
- Sender.net — manages our email and text newsletters and sign-up forms.
- Google — provides web fonts and, on our booking calendar, availability syncing.
- YouTube (Google) — hosts the videos embedded on our site; YouTube may set its own cookies when you play a video.
How we share information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with the service providers listed above so they can perform their function for us, or if we are legally required to do so.
How long we keep it
We keep booking information for as long as needed to plan and follow up on your event and for our normal business records. Newsletter and text contacts are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from emails using the link in any newsletter.
- Stop texts by replying STOP.
- Ask us to access, correct, or delete the information we hold about you by emailing booking@acesandeights.band.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll remove it.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we collect. However, no website or method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Please check back occasionally.
